I had a great stay at Mad Monkey Downtown! The location was fantastic, with the rail station just a short walk away. The room was clean and comfortable, and I didn't have any issues with bugs or uncleanliness. The staff were friendly and welcoming, making me feel right at home. The hostel also had good WiFi, which was a bonus. I highly recommend Mad Monkey Downtown for a pleasant stay in Sydney!

It was close to Darlo Theatre where I was going

I didn't like much about it at all. I had a single room and it was basic. However what can you expect for a backpackers. It was $68.00 and that is dear. The room is on the busy street so I could here people at the hotel and night clubs in the area. Plus sirens going a lot. I did sleep however and the bed was comfortable and warm.The Bathroom was clean but not much privacy to shower as there is only a curtain not a cubicle to dry and dress. I would not stay there again as I m not into back packers. It was ok for the night and served my need although next time I will pay a little bit more and stay in a hotel where it is quieter and more comfortable and private.

I loved it! It was in a great part of Sydney and the staff was awesome!I would love to go back again! :)

This hotel really exceeded my expectations! the value for money was amazing. I couldn't believe how affordable it was to stay here considering all the facilities they offered, like the TV room with cozy bean bags. Secondly, the location in the city center was perfect. It was so convenient being close to the train station and not too far from the city center itself. Lastly, I have to mention the staff. They were so friendly and helpful, always going above and beyond to make sure I had a great stay.

Good backpacker hostel. Friendly and helping staff. Standard(good) breakfast in the morning. Nice activities every day.

As a solo traveler looking for calm and quietness this place is not the best. Prefer adding $10-20 to get a real studio/room in a real hotel or apartment service.

The hostel is well located, with easy access to public transportation. the facilities were good with plenty of communal areas, including a TV room and a BBQ area on the roof. the staff was helpful and friendly!

For instance, the bathrooms could have been cleaner, and there was a shortage of cutlery in the kitchen, which was a bit inconvenient.

The friendliness of the staff, the location and the price - just awesome

The whole backpacker is very dirty. Staff is not very helpful. Late check in. It was my worse experience ever. As soon as I walked in, I told myself that I need to find another place to stay but all the backpacker around are fully booked so I had to stay in this dirty Funk house for 1 night. I got bed bag all over my neck. So bad. I count have a shower because the bathroom was so dirty. Worse experience ever. Not recommended to anyone at all.
